Most people think of rest as the absence of doing. Reishi thinks of it differently.

It's not about switching off. It's about recovering properly so tomorrow you're actually ready.

What makes Reishi work

"Reishi (Ganoderma lucidum) has a history of use spanning over 2,000 years in traditional East Asian cultures, valued for its beta-glucans and triterpenes — longer than almost any other medicinal mushroom." The active compounds are beta-glucans and triterpenes. Beta-glucans are the primary potency marker. Triterpenes are unique to Reishi and are what give it its distinctive bitter taste — a sign of a genuine, concentrated extract.

Like all medicinal mushrooms, the quality of what you're taking comes down to concentration. A diluted extract delivers diluted results.

Our current batch tests at 41.96% beta-glucans, verified using Megazyme K-YBGL analysis — the same gold standard testing we apply to every product in our range. View our Certificate of Analysis →

Fruiting body vs. mycelium — why it matters

The same rule applies to Reishi as every other medicinal mushroom.

The fruiting body is where the active compounds are concentrated — the beta-glucans, the triterpenes, the compounds Reishi has been valued for across centuries of use.

Mycelium on grain introduces starch content that dilutes the actives. A product that doesn't state 100% fruiting body may not be delivering what you think it is.

Our Reishi is 100% fruiting body. No mycelium. No grain. No fillers.

What to look for when buying Reishi in Australia

Not all Reishi is the same. Here's what actually matters:

Fruiting body — must be clearly stated. No grain, no mycelium, no fillers.

Beta-glucan percentage — above 40%, tested and published. This is the quality line.

Triterpene content — unique to Reishi. A bitter taste in your extract is a good sign. Bitterness means triterpenes are present. If your Reishi tastes like nothing, ask questions.

Extraction ratio — 26:1 means 26kg of raw mushroom per 1kg of finished powder. This is among the highest available in Australia.

Certificate of Analysis — full lab results covering beta-glucans, heavy metals, pesticides, and microbiological safety. If a brand won't show you theirs, that tells you something.

Packaging — UV exposure degrades medicinal mushroom extracts. Miron violet glass protects potency from the moment it's sealed to the moment you open it.

FAQ

How do I take Reishi?

Mix ½ teaspoon (approximately 1g) into warm water, herbal tea, or your milk of choice. Most people take it in the evening, 30–60 minutes before bed. Can be taken daily.

Will it make me drowsy?

"Reishi is traditionally associated with calm and relaxation — most people find they feel more settled with consistent use." It's not a sedative. It won't knock you out.

Why does it taste bitter?

Bitterness in Reishi comes from triterpenes — the ganoderic acids that are unique to this mushroom. If your Reishi has no bitterness at all, the triterpenes likely didn't make it through extraction.

Bitterness in Reishi comes from triterpenes — the ganoderic acids that are unique to this mushroom. If your Reishi has no bitterness at all, the triterpenes likely didn't make it through extraction. Ours is bitter. That's intentional.

How long before I notice results?

Most people notice something within 2–4 weeks of consistent use. Reishi is a long-game supplement — the benefits build over time.

Can I take it with other Shroom to Improve products?

Yes. "Reishi pairs naturally with Lion's Mane and Ashwagandha. Many customers use all three as part of a daily routine."
