Not all stress is the same. Not all ashwagandha is either.

Some days grind you down slowly. Others hit you all at once. Either way, your body pays the price — tight shoulders, scattered focus, that wired-but-tired feeling that follows you to bed.

→ "Ashwagandha has a history of use spanning over 3,000 years in Ayurvedic tradition." But not all ashwagandha is created equal. Ours is KSM-66 — the most clinically researched ashwagandha extract in the world.

WHAT IS KSM-66?

KSM-66 is a trademarked, full-spectrum ashwagandha root extract developed by Ixoreal Biomed in India. It's the only ashwagandha extract backed by more than 48 gold-standard, double-blind, randomised, placebo-controlled human clinical trials.

That matters. A lot of supplements lean on animal studies or in-vitro research. KSM-66 has been tested on humans, repeatedly, with consistent results.

It's root only — no leaves, no filler. Extracted using water, without alcohol or harsh chemical solvents. And it's standardised to ≥5% withanolides — the active compounds responsible for its effects.

If you're going to take ashwagandha, this is the one to take.

WHAT IT'S USED FOR

Ashwagandha is an adaptogen — meaning it helps the body respond to stress more effectively, rather than targeting one specific outcome. People use it for different reasons. All of them valid.

Stress & cortisol

→ "KSM-66 is backed by clinical research and is one of the most studied ashwagandha extracts available. People use it to support their response to everyday stress."

Sleep

When stress drops, sleep improves. → "Many people find sleep improves with consistent use."— particularly useful if a busy mind is what keeps you awake.

Strength & recovery

For those training regularly, → "ashwagandha is popular with people who train regularly, particularly for recovery support." It's one of the few adaptogens with genuine sports performance research behind it.

Long-term resilience

→ "KSM-66 has been studied extensively for long-term use and has a well-established safety profile." — particularly in adults over 50. This is a daily, long-game supplement.

THE NUMBERS

  • Extract: KSM-66 Ashwagandha Root (Withania somnifera)
  • Plant part: Roots only
  • Withanolides: ≥5% (standardised, verified by HPLC)
  • Withaferin A: <0.1% (the compound associated with side effects — kept intentionally low)
  • Origin: India
  • Extraction: Water only — no alcohol, no harsh solvents
  • Clinical trials: 48+ gold-standard human RCTs
  • Packaging: Miron violet glass — UV-protective preservation
  • Allergen: Contains milk (used in traditional KSM-66 processing)

A NOTE ON WITHAFERIN A

Withanolides are the active compounds in ashwagandha. But not all Withanolides are equal. Withaferin A is one that's associated with potential side effects at higher concentrations.

KSM-66 keeps withaferin A below 0.1%. That's deliberate. It's part of why KSM-66 has such a clean safety profile across its clinical trials — and why it's the extract serious formulators choose.

HOW TO USE

Mix ½ teaspoon (approximately 1g) into warm water, herbal tea, or your milk of choice. Can be taken morning or evening.

Many people find it works well taken in the evening — either alongside Reishi, or swapped in on nights when you want something a little different. The two complement each other well enough that mixing them is perfectly reasonable too. Others prefer Ashwagandha in the morning to set the tone for the day. Try both and find your rhythm.

Consistent daily use over 8–12 weeks is where the research shows the strongest results. This isn't a one-day supplement — it builds.

PAIRS WELL WITH

  • Reishi — a natural evening combination. Ashwagandha addresses cortisol and stress response; Reishi promotes calm and relaxation. Some nights you might take both together. Other nights you might swap one for the other depending on how the day went. Either works.
  • OFF Blend — if you want Reishi, Tremella and Turkey Tail alongside your Ashwagandha in one evening ritual.
  • Lion's Mane — for a complete daily stack. Lion's Mane in the morning for focus, Ashwagandha in the evening for recovery and stress.

QUALITY & TRANSPARENCY

  • KSM-66 certified — the world's most clinically researched ashwagandha extract
  • Root only — never leaf
  • ≥5% withanolides, independently verified
  • Withaferin A <0.1%
  • Water extraction — no alcohol, no harsh solvents
  • Heavy metals tested — all below detection limits
  • Miron violet glass — UV-protective preservation

FAQ

Why KSM-66 and not generic ashwagandha?

Generic ashwagandha varies wildly in potency, plant part used, and withanolide content. KSM-66 is root-only, standardised to ≥5% withanolides, and backed by over 48 human clinical trials. You're not just buying ashwagandha — you're buying certainty.

When should I take it?

Morning or evening both work. If stress and focus are your main reasons, morning is a good starting point. If sleep and recovery are the priority, evening — especially alongside Reishi — tends to work well.

How long before I notice results?

Most people notice something within 2–4 weeks of consistent use. The clinical research shows the strongest effects at 8–12 weeks. Give it time.

Does it contain milk?

Yes — KSM-66 contains trace milk as part of its traditional processing method. If you have a dairy allergy or intolerance, please consult your healthcare practitioner before use.

Can I take it with my other Shroom to Improve products?

Yes. Ashwagandha is a natural complement to Reishi, OFF Blend, and Lion's Mane. Many customers use it as part of a daily stack.
